So this week has been pretty crazy
1. Uni’s almost done
2. SO many assignments to do
3. I’ve been sick for two weeks
4. My shopping addiction has flared
5. and there are so many events to think about
I think you can guess what is on my mind…. What on earth am I going to wear for the rest of the year? Well let’s have a look at some fits I’ve been eyeing at the moment:
BRUNCH
I have a brunch with my girlfriends in a few weeks and was thinking of course I need a new fit. Setting the vibe now, I feel like it’s a flowy, spring style with a little note of summer.
Early Hours Mini Dress in Black - White Fox
With bubble dresses in style now, I think White Fox’s Early Hours Mini Dress Black is iconic and versatile for many events. This could pair with some slingbacks for dinner, some open-toe heels for brunch (wink) or even some summer cushion slides for a more casual up-done look.
1. Lottie Heels in White – Wildfire, Spendless
2. Denver Slides in Black - Wildfire, Spendless
3. Melita Heels in White - Wildfire, Spendless
1. Mini Crescent Bag - Cos
2. Goldie in White – Peta and Jain
3. Myra Abstract Shoulder Bag in Noir – The Wolf Gang
In terms of bags, black for an all-black look, matching with black heels or slides with a black bow for a half-up hair look. An all-white bag with matching white heels for a black-and-white look. Otherwise, a black and white bag for a bit of versatility so up to you what coloured heels/ slides/etc you choose to wear!
Also, speaking of how stun the bags are the above!! Prices of the three vary, with Goldie as more uni-girl friendly, Mini Crescent a bit more of an investment and Myra as a present from the boyfriend or mum. Otherwise, Overall obsession!!
GOT A TWENTY FIRST COMING UP?
I have two twenty first’s this November, an exact two-week difference between the two, so knowing what to wear now is crucial for online order purposes. Remember, girlies… versatility is key; otherwise, our purses will cry. This idea has been stuck in my head and after three returns, I think now I have decided exactly what I will be wearing.
Option One:
The first theme is a “dress to impress” - cocktail wear, whatever vibe. So thinking cocktail, I think satin or silk- a nice smooth, classy fabric that’s going to be worn again.
Monroe Dress in Black - Tiger Mist
1. Merril High Heels in Nude – Novo
2. NUMB Lace Up Heels in white
Tiger Mist’s Monroe Dress is gorgeous, sexy and just classy enough to have Nana approve- I know mine did, and that’s a rare event. The second I saw this, I already imagined the wavy hair, bronzed makeup, gold jewellery set and the perfect shoes.
I would say in terms of bags, the ones in the brunch edit would be IT. A pair of nude stiletto heels with the Myra Bag in the brunch edit would be perfect for dinner or a night out with the girls. Otherwise, the Melita heels or white lace-up heels would be perfect for a classy, elegant twenty-first look.
So if you’re looking for a fit for your next cocktail night- jump onto this fit!!
Option Two:
This vibe is Glitz, and Glam meets Studio 54. To be fair, I could not explain Studio 54 if my life depended on it (wrong generation, I suppose), but the mood board my girlfriend sent me felt like Spice Girls meets Clueless meets Destiny’s Child. So jumping onto the sale page of all my favourite clothing sites, I found the dress that matches this vibe perfectly.
Novak Dress - Tiger Mist
1. Cari In Chocolate Distressed Pu/Gold – Peta and Jain
2. Gigi In Chocolate - Peta and Jain
1. Esme In Chocolate – Wildfire, Spendless
2. Merril High Heels in Nude – Novo
Four words: This fit does it.
A tan dress, heels to match and a bag to match. Also, the silver accent on the back of the dress makes it so much easier to wear silver for my girls who refuse to switch (me too, girl. Me too). This fit is fun, flirty, and perfect for the vibe. Versatility-wise, this would be perfect for a family event of fun, a party, a girl’s night and more. Whether dinner, drinks or a night at the clubs I know you girls will make it work x
LAST MINUTE FESTIVAL TO ATTEND? WELL I DO!
With Seasons in two weeks (My Perth girls will know), I needed an outfit that matched the Halloween theme, but I can wear it again! So, with an idea in mind for months, I decided that my girlfriend and I would be going as a leopard and black cat. Being a leopard is more than just being a spotty fur creature with whiskers- it is an ode to current trends in fashion. Whilst many people I know are doing it blind I think its important to know why its relevant and what it means in fashion today.
1. Sola Mesh Corset in Chocolate Brown – Outcast Clothing
2. Late Nights Mini Skirt in Cheetah – White Fox
1. Sweet in Black – Wildfire
2. Cat Cheetah Ears – Amazon
This fit is sleek, versatile, iconic and just everything I wanted for Halloween without being too basic. Everything can be worn again, and the ears and possibly a new dress can be given to your 5-year-old cousin for her dress-up phase to match you in your skirt at your next family gathering.
So that’s my plan for the next month! My wardrobe fits and all! Some tips from me if your looking for fits for any events this upcoming month:
Look for Sales!! A Uni Girl needs an excuse to purchase and a purchase under $50 is perfect validation- almost meant to be!
Make a pinterest board in advance! Look at what others are wearing- know the fashion and how to style it again
Versatility- a purchase that you’ll wear once is not a purchase worth validating, and no matter how good your job is, a casual job does not accommodate “just being a girl”
Finally, YOU ARE NOT “just a girl”. You can look stylish and save money!! All the tips above are so important- if you can make a purchase that can cross worlds (uni into night out, e.g. jeans or brunch into work- e.g. cute top), you have done it. That uni degree is not for nothing, babe- you are smart enough to pick your purchase with Smarts!
Thanks babes and enjoy your shopping!!!
Yours truly,
Em x
